J2 Nordic Race Course Etiquette
Spectators:
During competitions spectators (anyone not racing) are allowed to be on the course to cheer on competitors but certain rules must be followed:
1.) Movement on the race course must be in the direction of the race only. Do not ski backwards, against the flow of the race.
2.) Never pass or interfere with a competitor.
3.) Always stand off the trail far enough to avoid interfering with competitors.
4.) Never Skate ski or snowplow over classical tracks.
5.) Never follow closely to racers, allow plenty of room so as to not distract or intimidate them. Minimum of 15 meters 30 meters would be better.
6.) You are Not Allowed to follow closely or “pace” racers for more than 30 meters.
7.) Skiing or walking within the Stadium (start/finish) area is forbidden during the competition. There are excellent spectator areas at the stadium.
8.) During the sprint races, the downhill (Peter's Passage) is closed. No travel in the woods will be allowed while competitors are on the course. Separate Spectator Trails allow full access to the sprint course. Please take advantage of this trail.
Your cooperation will allow for a fair and fun event.
Thank you, enjoy the races.
