The competition rules are in force.

The rule about skiing in the direction of the course will be enforced.

Those found skiing in the wrong direction:

We wish to make this a fun and fair championships for all.  Team leaders and coaches – your cooperation in this policy will make the event go smoothly without any sanctions.  Please make your athletes aware of this rule.  You and they are not allowed to ski in the wrong direction on the course.  This applies to access to coaching points, while warming up or while out supporting and cheering on teammates.  Make sure that your skiers leave enough time to get to the stadium for their start time.

Special note on access to the stadium.  Friday and Saturday, access to the stadium is open to skiing and foot traffic.  Access to the stadium on Sunday before and during the Relays is only by foot.  No skiing to the stadium down the hill backwards on the course from the Eagle Mtn House.  There will be a lane for foot travel.  By ski, to the stadium from the Eagle is c. 1.6 km in the direction of the course and only on classic skis.  No skating on classic tracks.

Warm up prior to races:  The entire area west of the Wildcat River is available for wax testing areas with timing lights and athlete warm up on Friday and Saturday.  It is directly accessible to the stadium and start line.  The trails will be groomed at the same time as the competitions courses and the waxing conditions should be identical.  Sunday wax testing area for timing devices is available just north of the stadium access bridge and west of the Wildcat River.  Maps will be available during the team leaders meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

It was also decided to make a minor but fun change to the sprint course.  A map of the new course will also be available at the Team Leader’s meeting on Friday.
