Stella rudder details.  Bushings are gone.  The rudder needs to be removed and bushings need to be redone.

Scott using hammer and chisel and screwdrivers and wrecking bar to get pintal straps to release from rudder.

Note straps have been released from rudder. The rudder weighs about 80 lbs and care was used to make sure no one got hurt from it falling.

Note pintal straps still with boat. Pintals - 13/16" pins and 1" gudgeon holes. Delrin bushings made to raise rudder 1/8" and fill pin slots.

Test fitting. Two bushings 1/4" was too much 1/8" was just right. Holes for bolts were drilled to 5/16" and tapped.

Pintal with one bushing in place and strap epoxied on and through bolted.

Upper rudder painted and second fairing compound applied 5/22/05. After sanding, bottom paint to be applied and she's ready for launch.
